The Creatives Indigenous accelerator program, spearheaded by co-founder Kelly Holmes, has successfully concluded its latest cohort, providing a platform for Native artists to build and grow their creative businesses. Funded by a generous grant from the North Dakota-based organization StrengthenND, the program has made significant strides in supporting Indigenous entrepreneurs in the arts.
Over the course of six weeks, participants delved into the essentials of establishing and expanding their creative enterprises. The comprehensive curriculum covered critical areas such as business planning, marketing strategies, financial management, and branding, equipping founders with the skills needed for long-term success.
The program proudly featured three remarkable founders:
- Arla Lucia – A talented jewelry and accessories artist, Arla honed her craft and developed a sustainable business model to showcase her unique designs.
- Jaye Ashes – An accomplished photographer, Jaye refined their artistic vision and learned effective ways to market and sell their photographic works.
- Angel – The creative force behind AC Quilting Services, Angel enhanced her quilting business, focusing on scaling her operations and reaching a broader audience.
The program’s culmination was an inspiring pitch and presentation event, during which these founders had the opportunity to showcase their businesses and articulate their visions to potential investors, partners, and the wider community.
The Creatives Indigenous accelerator program not only fostered entrepreneurial growth but also celebrated the rich cultural heritage and artistic talents of Indigenous communities. By providing targeted support and resources, the program has paved the way for these creative founders to achieve sustainable success and make a lasting impact in their respective fields.
